To many people, making it to the NFL Hall of Fame is one of the most impressive feats an athlete can accomplish.
Hall of Fames in every sport are not taken lightly by the people who nominate the players, and being honored in this way is a sign of how impactful a particular player was to the sport at the time.
There is some debate about the merits of how players are selected for these respective halls, especially if a player makes it that isn’t a consensus pick in the public eye.
Cam Newton recently appeared on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, “Club Shay Shay,” where he was asked if he did enough to make it to the NFL Hall of Fame.
“Honestly, though, I wouldn’t care. And not to disrespect the Hall of Fame or the people who are in it, my impact was felt,” Newton said.

Newton didn’t necessarily give an answer about his odds of making it to the Hall, but he did seem to indicate that his career speaks for itself.
He hasn’t won a Super Bowl to this point, but he does have a few impressive accolades to his name.
Newton was an exciting player when he came into the league, taking home the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, and later achieved league MVP.
He could have done enough in those few years to sway to the committee one way or another, but many have expressed concern that his career wasn’t long enough to warrant a Hall of Fame selection.
