Carlos Alcaraz and Lorenzo Musetti will play for a spot in the quarter-finals of the 2024 Miami Open.
The two players are currently playing really well, and that’s why they will meet in the fourth round of the second ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the season.
On the one hand, the Spanish youngster is coming off the Indian Wells triumph, and in Miami, he’s yet to lose a set, with two super-impressive performances so far, most recently against Gael Monfils.
On the other hand, Musetti is having one of the better events in his career, first outclassing Roman Safiullin, before stunning home-crowd favourite Ben Shelton in the third round of the tournament.
Now, they will play for a spot in the quarter-finals of the tournament in what will be their fourth Tour-level, and fifth match overall, including one on the ATP Challenger Tour.
Head-to-head:
Their first match was played back in 2020 in Trieste, Italy, with Musetti having the home-court advantage. It didn’t mean much as Alcaraz was able to win their semi-final match, before claiming his first-ever ATP Challenger title.
A couple of years later, they already met on the ATP Tour, and this time around, it was a three-set victory for the Italian, who stunned the Spanish player to win the biggest title of his tennis career.
After that, however, Musetti couldn’t win a single set against Alcaraz, as the Spaniard beat him at the Roland Garros and in Beijing, both in straight sets.

Prediction:
Now they meet again, and even though Musetti is playing a great tournament, Alcaraz seems to be just too good for everyone right now, as his Indian Wells victory proved. That’s why he shouldn’t have any problems in this match.
