Carson Wentz’s tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles didn’t end well.

His downfall was as ugly and fast as his ascent, and it was pretty hard to explain.

He went from being an MVP candidate and leading the Eagles to the playoffs to becoming one of the most criticized quarterbacks in the game.

However, despite all that went down, he still holds a singular record in franchise history.

As shown by StatMuse NFL on Twitter, he’s still the only Eagles quarterback to throw for at least 4,000 yards in a single season.

Notably, he did that in his second-to-last season with the Eagles organization when he posted career-bests in attempts (607), completions (388), and passing yards (4,039).

Unfortunately, he also posted career-worsts in fumbles (16) and fumbles lost (7), throwing for 27 touchdowns.

Wentz was never truly the same player since that season-ending injury in the 2019 postseason.

Fortunately for him and the team, Nick Foles had an epic postseason run to lead the team to the mountaintop, and Wentz also deserves all the credit in the world for that Super Bowl ring they won.

After that, it always seemed like he was trying to do so much and prove that he was the best quarterback in the league on every single play, making him frustrating to watch and coach at times.

Wentz is now Patrick Mahomes’ backup with the Kansas City Chiefs.

And while it’s hard to think of him as a starter ever again, it might take a while before someone breaks his passing record.
