Carter-Vickers back on the pitch with Celtic after return to training

Americans Abroad Weekend Rewind: Carter-Vickers, Aaronson, and more

Cameron Carter-Vickers is set to return for Celtic as early as this weekend.

Carter-Vickers returned to training ahead of Celtic’s top-two Scottish Premiership clash with Aberdeen on Saturday. The U.S. men’s national team defender missed out on international duty due to a toe injury, which also kept him out of several Celtic matches.

After a break in playing, Carter-Vickers looks set to get back into Brendan Rodgers’ backline.

Carter-Vickers has made seven appearances for Celtic across all competitions this season. The veteran centerback has mainly featured alongside Liam Scales in the Hoops’ defense and has recently been joined by fellow USMNT teammate Auston Trusty.

Trusty joined Celtic from Sheffield United prior to Deadline Day in August.

Celtic hosts Aberdeen in Glasgow on Saturday before traveling to Serie A side Atalanta in Champions League play on October 23.
