Manchester United’s midfielder Casemiro has joined Marbella FC as a director and has also become a shareholder in the club.
The Brazilian had a wonderful debut season in England, scoring in the Carabao Cup final and becoming the anchor in United’s midfield.
This season has been somewhat of a disaster though as the player was not selected for the FA Cup final win and he was also regularly caught out of position playing as a midfielder or a makeshift centre back.
Many pundits aimed their fire at the poor performance levels of the Brazilian and it is very possible he has played his last game in the red of United.
He has been linked to numerous clubs, including Saudi Arabia based ones, as INEOS look to shed his high wages from the club to comply with strict PSR rules and also to create space to bring in younger and hungrier players.
It was even reported recently that Al Nassr may pay €90m for the player in what would be a dream windfall for the club, but such a deal seems highly improbable.
The 32 year old is clearly thinking of his career after football however as he has become a crucial member of the boardroom of Marbella FC in Spain.

Speaking on his decision he claimed, “it is an honour for me to join Marbella Football Club because my biggest motivation is the spectacular possibilities for growth of the club.”
“I have been to Marbella with my family on several occasions and both my children, my wife and I are in love with this city, with which we want to be connected for life.”
“No doubt, together we will dream big to take Marbella to the highest, but now we have to enjoy our wonderful ascent to Primera.”
The Andalucian club were only formed in 1997 and play in a tiny stadium with a capacity of around 1,500 people.
Casemiro’s involvement is not the only good news Marbella fans will be enjoying as they have recently secured promotion to the third division of Spanish football, 1ª RFEF.
Casemiro and fans will now be dreaming big that they can one day, in the not too distant future, follow their side to such iconic stadiums like the Santiago Bernabeu and the Camp Nou in La Liga.
