The Boston Celtics have reached an agreement on a contract extension with guard Jrue Holiday.

Brad Stevens, Celtics President of Basketball Operations, stated, “In addition to being one of the more accomplished players in the league, Jrue is an elite teammate and competitor. He is simply a person who raises everyone’s level around him. He combines an unselfishness to do whatever is best for the team with an edge to take on any challenge at any time. We are grateful that Jrue is a Celtic.”

Holiday has played in 68 games (all starts) with the Celtics this season, averaging 12.5 points, a career-high 5.4 rebounds, and 4.9 assists in 32.9 minutes per game.

He is shooting a career-high 43.1 percent from beyond the arc, ranking sixth in the NBA, and has made the second-most three-pointers in a single season in his career (137).

Originally from Chatsworth, California, Holiday also ranks seventh in the NBA in total plus/minus (+453) and ninth in blocks among league guards with 51.
