Celtics Guard Jaylen Brown Downplays Hand Injury

Celtics Guard Jaylen Brown Downplays Hand Injury

Boston only have six games left until the playoffs but one their star players Jaylen Brown is dealing with a left hand injury.

Brown was asked about the injury after the Celtics’ massive 135-100 win over OKC on Wednesday and he made sure to downplay it.

“I think I got a sprain or a strain in a ligament in my hand, but I think it’s fine,” Brown told reporters postgame. “It’s something I’m not concerned with moving forward. It bothered me a little bit tonight, but part of it is working through it, playing through it, because it gives you a little bit more information down the line if things were to get any worse, but I think it’s nothing to be concerned about.”

Though his hand was causing him some discomfort, it didn’t appear to hold him back too much on the court, since he shot shot 5-6 from the field, including 3-4 from behind the arc. Plus, scored 15 of his 23 points in the final quarter.

The Celtics will definitely need Brown to be healthy in the postseason if they plan on making a deep run.

Brown’s teammate Al Horford believes that JB should earn a spot in the NBA All-Defensive team for his work on the defensive end this season.

“He wants the responsibility on the defensive end,” Horford told reporters, per Taylor Snow. “A lot of people may say they want those challenges, but he’s facing all types of different players. He’s guarding Stephen Curry, he’s guarding Zion (Williamson), just different guys that he has to match up against. Being very unbiased, very clear, he’s First Team All-Defense… He deserves to be in that position.”
