The Carolina Panthers are getting some new changes to their stadium.

According to the NFL Network, the city of Charlotte has approved the $800 million renovation plan for Bank of America Stadium.

“The Charlotte City Council voted Monday night to approve a joint $800 million stadium renovation plan with the Panthers that ties the NFL team to the city for the next 20 years,” a recent article from NFL.com reads.

The Panthers have called Charlotte home since the team’s inaugural season back in 1995.

That home is not likely to change anytime soon with this new deal falling into place just recently.

Among the new renovations will be redesigned concourses, social areas with skyline views, modernized infrastructure, upgraded video and audio systems, etc.

They are slated to be finished by the year 2029.

Now, it will be up to the team to start producing again for the city and region.

This is a franchise that has not been competitive since the height of the Cam Newton and Ron Rivera days.

The team has not had a winning season since 2017 and has not won a playoff game since 2015.

They are also still searching for that first Super Bowl win.

In the last five seasons, the team has had six different head coaches.

But with first-year head coach Dave Canales calling the shots, perhaps he can turn the tide of the franchise around.

An offensive assistant when the Seahawks won the Super Bowl in 2013, Canales also helped reinvigorate Pro Bowl quarterback Baker Mayfield’s career in Tampa Bay last year.

If he can do that with young quarterback Bryce Young, perhaps the renovations will be worth the while.
