Chelsea ace Raheem Sterling ignoring interest from the Saudi Pro League

Chelsea ace Raheem Sterling ignoring interest from the Saudi Pro League

It’s not been the greatest season for Chelsea Football Club generally, and Raheem Sterling was just one player to feel the full force of the club’s boo boys after a poor performance in the FA Cup at the weekend.

The England international hasn’t been in the best form for the West Londoners, and against Leicester he had a nightmare, missing a penalty and skying a free-kick in a game in which he lacked any sort of drive and menace.

Raheem Sterling will turn down Saudi Pro League overtures

On a reported £300,000 per week he clearly needs to do better, and the home support let him know it as he was substituted before the end of the game.

According to The Standard, there is Saudi Pro League interest in his services, but Sterling is ready to turn down their overtures and remain at Stamford Bridge in an attempt to reverse the current narrative.

The outlet also note that manager, Mauricio Pochettino, considers the 29-year-old to be an “amazing” player, and it’s clear that as long as the Argentinian remains in charge, Sterling will have a place in his squad.

Clearly, however, the player is going to need to up his game significantly if he wants to win over the locals, who are putting him under intense pressure with each passing game.

A fan favourite at Liverpool and Man City, he’s rarely been that for the West Londoners.
