Paris Saint-Germain ready to make move for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, paving way for Romelu Lukaku’s exit from Chelsea

According to Fabrizio Romano, Paris Saint-Germain are set to make their move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen next week, which could have positive implications for Chelsea as it could signal the departure of Romelu Lukaku from Stamford Bridge.

The Ligue 1 champions are preparing for talks with Napoli in pursuit of Osimhen, who has indicated his willingness to join PSG. Osimhen previously played for Lille in the French league, making him familiar with the competition.

Osimhen has been absent from Napoli’s squad this summer and has a contract with the club until 2026 with a €130m release clause.

PSG is not keen on triggering the release clause and will attempt to negotiate a transfer fee with Napoli, as reported by GOAL’s Marc Mechenoua.

Should the deal go through, this could pave the way for Lukaku’s move to Napoli. Lukaku has reportedly prioritized Napoli and is waiting for an official offer from the Italian club, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Lukaku has agreed on personal terms with Napoli, willing to reduce his salary to facilitate the transfer. However, there is still a financial gap between Chelsea’s asking price and Napoli’s offer, with Chelsea holding out for €35m plus bonuses while Napoli is aiming to pay around €25m, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
