Chelsea standout Reece James set to resume full training next week

Chelsea star Reece James will return to full training next week

Journalist Matt Law has revealed that Chelsea captain Reece James will return to full training next week. The English defender has been out of action since suffering an injury in the preseason but is now ready to make his comeback under manager Enzo Maresca. James was impressive in the team’s preseason tour of the United States and could be tested in a new role at the club.

Before the start of the new season, James stated that Chelsea’s aim is to qualify for the Champions League, and early signs indicate they are on track. Matt Law told ‘London is Blue’ that the England right-back is set to make his comeback in a major boost for Chelsea and Maresca with full training expected next week.

Reece James has struggled with fitness issues at Chelsea but the fact that he could return to training soon is an encouraging sign. In his absence, Malo Gusto has filled in at right-back and done well. Chelsea will likely be cautious in reintegrating James into the team, with the game against Liverpool coming too soon after the international break. Maresca has yet to have the luxury of playing his captain this season, making James’ return a welcome sight for the Italian manager.
