The quest for an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl championship has begun for the Kansas City Chiefs, as their rookies have reported to training camp.

The Chiefs have their usual question marks, especially at wide receiver, but they also have reason to believe they will be fine at that position after adding rookie speedster receiver Xavier Worthy in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The first-round pick reportedly is being fed the ball a lot so far during training camp, and per Charles Goodman, he is taking advantage of the opportunities.

Going into the draft, scouts and observers were intrigued by Worthy, who set an NFL Scouting Combine record by running the 40-yard dash in 4.21 seconds.

The Chiefs were so intrigued by him that they acquired the No. 28 pick in the draft in a trade with the Buffalo Bills in order to ensure they would get their hands on him.

Though he stands a modest 5-foot-11, weighs 172 pounds and had just five receiving touchdowns last season at the University of Texas, he is an excellent route runner and does a good job of tracking the football.

Kansas City has managed to win the past two Vince Lombardi Trophies despite a makeshift group of wide receivers, and they will need Worthy to produce, especially given their current situation with Rashee Rice, perhaps their most reliable wideout.

Rice, who had 938 receiving yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie in 2023, is facing several serious legal issues because of a car crash he was involved in a few months ago. Even if he’s found not guilty of all charges, he could face a suspension by the NFL.
