Coming into and during the 2023 NFL regular season, the biggest concern for the Kansas City Chiefs was the receiving corps, as the team didn’t have the same firepower in the passing game, which some believed would be the team’s Achilles heel.

Fortunately for Kansas City, the Chiefs were able to overcome their deficiencies at the wide receiver position and go on to win a second consecutive Super Bowl title, creating a dynasty under legendary head coach Andy Reid.

One of the reasons the Chiefs were able to overcome their issues at wide receiver was rookie Rashee Rice coming into his own late in the season and proving that he could be a star on the rise in Kansas City.

Although Rice was thought to be a player on the rise in Kansas City, a recent off-the-field incident has hurt his chances of becoming a legitimate star with the Chiefs, as it is being reported that could be suspended for at least half of the 2024 campaign, according to James Palmer of NFL Network via JPAFootball.

Initially, this would’ve been a costly blow for the Chiefs as they try to become the first team in NFL history to pull off the three-peat, but the team made it a goal to upgrade the wide receiver position during the offseason and were able to accomplish that feat.

The Chiefs were able to sign veteran wide receiver Marquise Brown in free agency and then drafted the fastest player in the 2024 NFL Draft in Xavier Worthy, which should greatly boost the passing game in Kansas City next season.
