The Kansas City Chiefs are once again looking as inevitable as ever after starting the season 2-0 with a pair of improbable wins. However, their recent victory over the Cincinnati Bengals has left them with some holes to fill.
Starting running back Isiah Pacheco suffered a broken leg in the game, leading to roster changes ahead of their Week 3 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
On Wednesday, Kansas City made four roster moves. They placed Pacheco on IR, signed Keaontay Ingram as his replacement, added linebacker Cole Christiansen to the active roster, and included tight end Peyton Hendershot and former star running back Kareem Hunt on the practice squad.
The return of Kareem Hunt is particularly noteworthy, as he previously had a successful stint with the Chiefs before off-the-field issues cut it short. Hunt had an impressive rookie season with the Chiefs in 2017 and performed well with the Browns last season.
Ingram, who previously played for the Arizona Cardinals, joins the Chiefs with 134 career rushing yards on 62 carries. With Pacheco out for 6-8 weeks, there is a significant opportunity for Hunt or Ingram to establish themselves in the team’s backfield.
