Ever since he made his debut with the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes has arguably been the most spectacular quarterback in the game.
He’s set the blueprint for what the modern quarterback should look like, posting video game-like numbers and making video game-like plays.
That’s why, of all the words and adjectives one could use to talk about Mahomes, “game manager” wouldn’t be the first to come to mind.
However, NFL analyst Chris Broussard believes Mahomes has actually been more of a game manager than Brock Purdy this season.
Talking on “First Things First,” Broussard explained that he didn’t mean to take a shot at Mahomes, but his stats, compared to Purdy, proved his point.

In reality, the Chiefs’ skill players have been far from impressive this season, and it seems like Mahomes has had to work wonders to get his team to this point.
Nonetheless, he’s also understood that it’s not always about him, taking a step back to allow Isiah Pacheco and the run game to make an impact as well, and not always going for the home run when some shorter passes are right in front of him.
The Chiefs’ offense hasn’t been as proficient this season, and that’s the only thing that could step in their way of another Super Bowl win.
Still, game manager or not, it’s never safe to bet against Mahomes.
