One of the neatest parts of the NFL offseason is when the Madden cover is revealed.

This year, for Madden 25, San Francisco 49ers All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey was chosen to be on the cover.

What is super cool about this is the reaction of his father, Ed McCaffrey, who played 13 years as a wide receiver in the NFL and won three Super Bowls.

“It is surreal and incredible to see…Proud dad moment…Christian will continue the late, great John Madden’s legacy,” McCaffrey recently tweeted out.

There is no doubt that No. 23 out in the Bay Area was deserving of this honor.

Right now, he appears to be the best back in football.

The four-time All-Pro was just named the league’s Offensive Player of the Year after having a career year.

He led the league in rushing yards (1,459) and scrimmage yards (2,023).

His 21 total touchdowns also put him atop the NFL.

Simply put, he is on a heater right now.

The former Panther has four career 1,000-yard rushing seasons and multiple 2,000-yard scrimmage seasons.

He can do it all and more.

Without him on the field, who knows if the 49ers make it to the Super Bowl last year?

Seeing his father’s reaction was a very cool sight.

Ed McCaffrey recorded three 1,000-yard seasons for the Denver Broncos in between 1998 and 2000.

The former All-Pro surely taught his son how to play the game the right way.

Now, perhaps he can teach him how to play Madden the right way in an effort to win bragging rights in the McCaffrey household.
