Christian Norgaard, who joined Arsenal in the summer of 2025, is reportedly seeking to leave the club at the conclusion of the current season.
Last summer, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal made significant moves in the transfer market, successfully acquiring most of their targeted players. This has positioned them well in their quest for the Premier League title and has also given them a competitive edge in the Champions League.
Challenges for Norgaard at Arsenal
Despite some successful signings, Norgaard has found it challenging to secure playing time. According to The Sun, the former Brentford midfielder is eager to part ways with Arsenal just a year after his transfer. He has recently been linked to Ajax.
Arsenal acquired the 31-year-old for around £10 million (€11.4m, $13.5m) due to his reliable performances at Brentford. Although he anticipated a meaningful role within the squad, he has primarily remained on the sidelines.
Norgaard’s Future at Arsenal Uncertain
Recently arrived signing Martin Zubimendi’s impressive displays have limited Norgaard’s chances, leading to only 14 appearances across competitions, with none in the Premier League starting lineup.
With his contract valid until the summer of 2027, including an option for an additional year, Norgaard is firm in his decision to seek a new club this summer to pursue more playing time.
At 31 and with several years potentially left in his career, he aims to avoid a bench-warming role at Arsenal. Given his consistent past at Brentford, he is likely to attract interest from various clubs.
