AC Milan concluded its 2023 schedule in winning fashion with Christian Pulisic playing the hero for the Rossoneri.
Pulisic scored the winning goal for Stefano Pioli’s men on Saturday in a 1-0 Serie A home triumph over Sassuolo. It was Pulisic’s six goal of the season, making him AC Milan’s second-highest leading scorer heading into 2024.
After a goal-less first half, the Rossoneri took the lead in the 59th minute through Pulisic’s clever finish. Ismael Bennacer’s pass cut through the Sassuolo defense allowing Pulisic to draw goalkeeper Andrea Consigli off of his line.
The U.S. men’s national team attacker finished confidently, celebrating the breakthrough goal and his third tally of December. Pulisic registered a goal or assist in five of his six appearances this month between Serie A and UEFA Champions League action.
Pulisic led all players in fouls drawn (four) and draws won (nine), delivering a strong all-around 90-minute performance.
The Rossoneri head into 2024 sitting third in the Serie A table and next hosts Cagliari in Coppa Italia play.
