Christian Pulisic Voted as AC Milan’s Player of the Month for September

Christian Pulisic scores in fourth-straight match for AC Milan

The recognition for U.S. men’s national team star Christian Pulisic has continued into the fall.

Pulisic was named AC Milan’s Player of the Month for September, the club announced Friday. The 26-year-old beat out Matteo Gabbia and Tijjani Reijnders for the monthly honor.

In his second season with the Rossoneri, Pulisic has continued to be a major attacking threat for the club. He scored in each of AC Milan’s four matches in September, finishing with four goals and one assist in matches against Liverpool (Champions League), Venezia, Inter Milan, and Lecce.

Paulo Fonseca’s squad went perfect in Serie A play that month, winning all three of their league matches.

Pulisic also scored once on international duty with the USMNT, delivering the opening goal in a 1-1 friendly draw with New Zealand. He set a new career-high by scoring in five-consecutive matches for club and country.

AC Milan visits Fiorentina on Sunday in its final Serie A match before the October international break. Pulisic is slated to join up with the USMNT for friendlies against Panama (home) and Mexico (away).

It will be Pulisic’s first camp under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
