The start of the 2024 NFL season was thought to be a breath of fresh air for the Cleveland Browns, who went through a grueling 2023 campaign that was marred by injuries from the start, with stars Deshaun Watson and Nick Chubb playing only a handful of games before being ruled out for the season.

Fortunately for Cleveland, the team was able to endure the losses of Chubb and Watson, as the Browns were arguably one of the most resilient teams in the NFL last season, resulting in a playoff berth with veteran Joe Flacco leading the charge under center.

Ultimately, the Browns fell apart in the first round of the playoffs, getting outplayed by rookie quarterback CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans, ending a season that at one point seemed to have title-contending potential.

Heading into the 2024 campaign, the Browns got Watson back healthy, which was thought to be a game-changer, but that didn’t appear to be the case against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, as he struggled from start to finish.

Despite Watson’s struggles, throwing two interceptions and finding it difficult to connect with his receivers consistently, running back Jerome Ford thought his quarterback was a “warrior” during the loss in Week 1 via the team’s X account.

With Watson struggling in Week 1, the attention has turned to the veteran quarterback and whether he has what it takes to lead this team moving forward.

In Week 2, the Browns will go on the road to face the Jacksonville Jaguars, with Watson facing a lot of pressure to prove his worth and live up to his enormous contract.
