Clippers Eyeing Long-Term Extension for Tyronn Lue

Clippers Want To Sign Tyronn Lue To Long-Term Extension

The Los Angeles Clippers are eager to secure Tyronn Lue on a long-term contract and the possibility of him joining the Los Angeles Lakers as head coach seems unlikely.

“I don’t think it’s a realistic scenario given that Ty Lue still has a year remaining on his contract,” stated Adrian Wojnarowski. “The Clippers are intent on securing a long-term deal with Ty Lue. They envision him as their head coach for the foreseeable future. Discussions regarding this will take place after the playoffs, but they are very pleased with the job he has done this season and his overall performance.”

“It appears that, regardless of the outcome of this series, the organization intends to re-sign Paul George and James Harden, while looking to enhance the roster around them and Kawhi Leonard. Ty Lue is expected to remain as the head coach for the Clippers.”

In 2019, the Lakers had previously offered Lue the head coaching position, but they were unable to reach an agreement on contract terms.
