The Los Angeles Clippers are showing “strong interest” in bringing Jeff Van Gundy on board as part of their coaching staff for the upcoming season under Tyronn Lue.
According to reports, the Clippers also have a “strong chance” of successfully securing Van Gundy. This comes as the Clippers have an opening on Lue’s staff following the departure of Dan Craig to the Chicago Bulls.
Throughout this season, Van Gundy has been working as a consultant for the Boston Celtics after parting ways with ESPN. He has been a consistent presence alongside Brad Stevens during the Finals. Last offseason, the Dallas Mavericks tried to hire Van Gundy under Jason Kidd’s leadership.
Van Gundy’s last coaching role was back in the 2006-2007 season as the head coach of the Houston Rockets.
