Heading into Week 1 of the 2024 NFL regular season, there were a lot of matchups around the league that avid football fans were looking forward to.
One of those highly anticipated matchups in the NFL wasn’t because of the matchup so much rather than one player that everyone wanted to watch to judge if he was the real deal or not right out of the gate.
That player was No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams, out of the University of Southern California, who has received more hype than any incoming rookie in recent memory, as many believe he could be a superstar in his first season with the Chicago Bears.
Even though the Bears going up against the Tennessee Titans isn’t something NFL fans would typically watch, with both teams in rebuilding stages with young quarterbacks, Williams was enough of a draw to attract a lot of eyes.
Unfortunately for Williams, it was not a great debut for the former USC superstar, as he couldn’t get anything going for the Bears offense, leading to only 93 passing yards.
Despite his poor performance, the Bears were still able to secure the Week 1 win over the Titans, but now there’s a lot of concern about the rookie quarterback in Chicago, with FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd chiming in on the subject on Monday, pointing out the accuracy issues via The Herd with Colin Cowherd.

Williams completed only 14 of the 29 passes he threw on Sunday, which would be great for a shooter in the NBA but awful for a quarterback trying to make a name for himself on the professional while trying to live up to a ridiculous amount of hype.
Fortunately for the Bears, the team seems to be formidable on defense and special teams, which is the only reason they won this game, but things will only get tougher from here on out for Williams as he’ll face the Houston Texans in Week 2 on the road.
