Colin Cowherd Issues a Stern Warning to the Dallas Cowboys

Colin Cowherd Sends A Warning To The Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys may have a cloudy future ahead of them.

Not only are they dealing with multiple contract issues with their three best players in Pro Bowl quarterback Dak Prescott, All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, and All-Pro edge-rusher Micah Parsons, but they are also facing a first-place schedule this season.

Additionally, this team has had multiple, early playoff exits over the last few years and has lost significant contributors in Pro Bowl running back Tony Pollard, former Pro Bowl linebacker Leighton Vander Esch, and former Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore.

This is all part of the reason why Fox Sports’s Colin Cowherd believes Dallas is going to decline over the next few years.

“I think this season marks the slow and steady decline of the Cowboys…They are going to get absurdly top-heavy. That’s why they couldn’t spend any money…This is what happens when an 81-year-old man, Jerry Jones, sees himself as the GM,” Cowherd recently said on The Herd.

Cowherd makes a lot of good points right here.

The Cowboys were not able to spend money this offseason because they were so strapped by the cap.

Depending on who they pay between their best players, they could be strung up by the cap later down the road too.

Even if they have a good roster and even if they make the playoffs this season, they have not demonstrated the ability to beat the best teams in the biggest moments.

Look no further than their playoff losses to the San Francisco 49ers and the Green Bay Packers in each of the last few postseasons.

Combined with the growth and talent of a lot of other NFC teams, Dallas could be in some trouble over the next few years.
