Colin Cowherd Makes Strong Statement About Jordan Love

Jordan Love’s first season as the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers is going pretty well.

He’s completed 63.1 percent of his passes for 3,843 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in 16 games this season and is coming off a three-touchdown performance in a win over the Minnesota Vikings.

The playoffs are potentially on the table as well with a game against the Chicago Bears looming in Week 18.

Love’s play in 2023 has earned the adoration of Fox Sports analyst Colin Cowherd, who said he’s ready to anoint Love as the franchise quarterback the Packers were hoping he’d become after the departure of Aaron Rodgers.

“He is the quarterback of the future for Green Bay,” Cowherd said.

How fortunate for the Packers if this remains true after Green Bay had Rodgers and Brett Favre under center for the previous 31 seasons.

Love is doing all this, too, without much veteran offensive talent around him.

The Packers’ top pass-catchers are either first or second-year players and running backs Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon have been injured throughout the season.

The wins haven’t come in droves like they did with Rodgers and Favre, but Love turned the Packers’ season around quickly after a 2-5 start to the season.

Green Bay has won six of its past nine games and have averaged 33 points per game in back-to-back road victories.

Things are certainly trending upward for Love and the Packers, and a postseason berth would further cement Love’s claim to the franchise quarterback moniker.

A win gets the Packers into the postseason, but their seeding will depend on the outcome of the Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers game.
