The Pittsburgh Steelers traded for former Bears quarterback Justin Fields earlier this offseason after signing veteran Russell Wilson to a one-year deal. Fields, currently the backup behind Wilson, is adjusting to Pittsburgh’s system as the offseason progresses.
Despite undergoing some struggles during training camp, Fox Sports’s Colin Cowherd recently criticized Fields, saying, “The ability for a QB to feel the game and see the game. This has been my knock on Justin Fields.”
Fields had difficulty finding success in Chicago due to inconsistent play-calling and personnel. In 40 touchdowns and 30 interceptions during his time with the Bears, Fields posted a 10-28 record as a starter.
In Pittsburgh, Fields has the chance to learn from a winning quarterback like Russell Wilson and a successful organization. As a runner, Fields aims to improve his passing game and benefit from the opportunity to work with high-quality players.
