Common Joke Circulates Following Jets’ Defeat By 49ers

Everyone Was Making The Same Joke After Jets' Loss To 49ers

The New York Jets’ season opener may have cost them more than just one game.

The team was known for its defensive prowess, but that was nowhere to be found at Levi’s Stadium.

The Jets’ defense struggled to put pressure on Brock Purdy.

Needless to say, it didn’t take long before people online started wondering how this could affect Haason Reddick’s contract situation.

Fans flooded social media with hilarious jokes about Reddick and how he might finally get the kind of deal he was looking for.

Reddick forfeited $800,000 of his game check, and he’ll continue to lose money for every game he misses.

The star pass-rusher refuses to play without a new contract, and it looks like he’s willing to sit out the entire season if that’s what it takes to get his money.

The Jets traded for him and wanted him to be Bryce Huff’s replacement, and while it didn’t seem like he had that much leverage at first, Monday night’s outing may have changed everything.

Reddick is one of the best pass rushers in the game.

He’s a disruptive and physical force with a great nose for the opposition’s quarterback.

It seems like negotiations with the Jets haven’t been done in good faith, which is why Joe Douglas and his brass have also been reluctant to cave into his demands.

But after watching how their defense fared on Monday, they may not have a choice.
