Defending champion Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv (Winner League) landed 27-year old South Sudanese international 208cm center Wenyen Gabriel (college: Kentucky) for new season. Gabriel played this summer at Vaqueros de Bayamon in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 23 games just recently he averaged 13.0ppg, 7.4rpg, 2.2apg and 1.3bpg. He has been regularly called to South Sudanese Senior National Team since 2023.
Gabriel is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in USA, NBA (New Orleans Pelicans, Boston Celtics, LA Clippers, LA Lakers and Brooklyn Nets), NBA G League (Stockton Kings, Wisconsin Gabrielrd and Erie BH) and NBA Summer League (Sacramento Kings). His team won SEC Tournament in 2017 and 2018.
He graduated from University of Kentucky in 2018 and it will be his seventh season in pro basketball.
