Maccabi Rehovot (National League) added to their roster 31-year old American guard Kevin Capers (188cm-77kg-1993, college: FSC, agency: Inception Sports) for new 2024-25 season. Capers played last season at Trepca in Kosovan Superliga. In 21 games he recorded 9.4ppg, 3.6rpg, 4.6apg and 1.3spg. He helped them to win the league title and the cup. Capers also played 3 games in Liga Unike where he averaged 6.0ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.7apg.
He was voted All-SSC Player of the Year back in 2014 and 2015.
The previous (2022-23) season he played at Ramat Gan in Israeli National League. In 36 games he had very impressive stats: 19.7ppg, 4.6rpg, 4.7apg and 1.8spg in that year. He contributed to his team winning the league title despite they ended the regular season at the second place. Quite impressive season as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Israeli National League Guard of the Year and voted to All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week.
In 2015 he was drafted by Westchester Knicks (D-League) in third round (57th overall).
The former Florida Southern College (NCAA Div.II) star is in his tenth season in pro basketball.
Capers is quite experienced player. Capers’ career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in six different countries. He tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America and of course North America. Capers has played previously professionally in Hungary (Atomeromu), Iceland (IR Reykjavik), Mexico (Halcones de Ciudad Obregon), Romania (Sibiu), Israel (Hapoel Ramat Gan Givataim and Ramat Hasharon) and The Basketball Tournament (Florida TNT and Cititeam). He was selected All-SSC Player of the Year back in 2014 and 2015.
