Defending champion Al Ahly Cairo (Superleague) inked 26-year old American 183cm point guard Brandon Childress (college: Wake Forest). Childress moved there from HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim in German BBL league where he played this season. In 19 games he averaged 13.5ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.5apg and 1.3spg.

He is a very experienced player. Childress has played also professionally in Estonia (TalTech and Rapla), Greece and NBA Summer League (Sacramento Kings). His team made it to the Estonian League Semifinals in 2021 and 2022.

Among many awards he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-German Bundesliga Honorable Mention in 2023. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 2020 and it is his fourth season in pro basketball.
