KK Nova Gorica mladi (2SKL) signed 26-year old forward Matic Vesel (206cm-98kg-1998, college: Illinois) for upcoming 2024-25 season. Vesel has played for the last three years at Jezica. In 27 2SKL games he had 9.9ppg, 6.1rpg, 2.0apg, 1.1spg and 1.1bpg last season.
He represented Slovenia at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) U20 Division B in Sofia (Bulgaria) six years ago. His team won Silver and his stats at that event were 8 games: 4.6ppg, 3.4rpg.
Vesel has played previously for LTH Castings.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he played in the final of Slovenian 2SKL in 2023. He was voted to Eurobasket.com Slovenian 2SKL All-Defensive Team in 2023.
Vesel attended University of Illinois until 2018 and it will be his seventh season as a professional player.
