BC Wolves Vilnius (LKL) inked 26-year old American 183cm point guard Anthony Cowan Jr. (college: Maryland) for upcoming season. Cowan has played for the last two years at Promitheas in Greek GBL league. In 28 games he was league’s second best scorer with 14.3ppg and had 3.1rpg and 5.2apg (top 5) last season. He helped them to make it to the Greek Cup Semifinals. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week (4 times). Cowan also played 15 games in Basketball Champions League where he recorded very impressive stats: 17.8ppg, 2.9rpg and 5.4apg. He contributed to his team making it to the quarterfinals.
Three years ago (a year after his graduation) he was drafted by Memphis Hustle (G-League) in first round (16th overall).
Cowan graduated from University of Maryland in 2020 and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball.
He has played also professionally in USA and NBA Summer League (Memphis Grizzlies and Memphis Grizzlies). Cowan was also selected to Eurobasket.com Greek A1 All-Imports Team in 2022 and 2023. Cowan’s college team made it to the Greek Supercup Final Four in 2023.
