Defending champion Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana (Liga Nova KBM) added 26-year old American guard DeVante Jones (183cm-1998, college: Michigan) to their roster for the new 2024-25 season. Jones played last season at Le Mans Sarthe Basket in French Betclic ELITE ProA. In 33 games, he was the league’s second-best scorer with an impressive 15.9ppg and averaged 2.5rpg, 5.2apg (top 5), and 1.3spg. He was named to the French ProA All-Star Game, League Player of the Week, and Eurobasket.com All-French Betclic Elite ProA Second Team. Besides, he also played 7 games in the Basketball Champions League, where he averaged 12.3ppg, 2.1rpg, and 4.9apg.
In the previous (2022-23) season, he played at Metropolitans (Betclic ELITE ProA). In 41 games, he recorded 7.9ppg, 2.5rpg, 4.4apg, and 1.1spg and helped them reach the French ProA final. He was also named League Player of the Week during that year.
Jones was voted All-Sun Belt Player of the Year back in 2021. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2022 and this will be his third season as a professional player after playing for Coastal Carolina College for 3 years.
