AEL 1964 Larissa (National League 2) inked experienced 40-year old 203cm forward Georgios Oikonomou. The last time (2019-2021) he played at Nea Kifissia in Greek National League 1. Oikonomou missed last three seasons and had longer break from professional basketball.
He has spent his entire career in Greece playing for five other teams: Niki Volou, Keravnos Aigio, Ionikos Lamias, Nikopoli and Enosi.
Among many awards he was voted to Eurobasket.com All- C League Honorable Mention in 2020.
Oikonomou is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at AEL 1964 Larissa.
