Defending champion Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv (Winner League) landed 27-year-old American 196cm point guard Kobi Simmons (college: Arizona) for the new season. Simmons played most recently at Toronto Raptors in the NBA. In four games, he averaged 5.0ppg, 1.8rpg, 3.0apg, and 1.5spg last season. He also played for Raptors 905 in the U.S. NBA G-League where in 33 games he had very impressive stats: 15.2ppg, 4.2rpg, and 5.6apg.
Simmons is a very experienced player. He has also played professionally in Poland (Stal), NBA (Memphis Grizzlies and Charlotte Hornets), NBA G League (Cleveland Charge and Greensboro Swarm), and NBA Summer League (Charlotte Hornets, Portland Trail Blazers, and Charlotte Hornets).
Among many awards, his team won the Polish Cup in 2022. Simmons received the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Player of the Year award back in 2016.
He attended the University of Arizona until 2017, and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball.
