Defending champion KK Crvena zvezda Meridianbet Beograd (KLS) loans 24-year old Serbian international 211cm center Filip Petrusev (college: Gonzaga) from Olympiacos for new season. It is actually his comeback to Beograd as he has played here before. The last season he played also at Olympiacos (GBL) where in 19 games he averaged 7.8ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.5apg. He helped them to win the cup and make to league final. Petrusev also played 22 games in Euroleague where he had 6.3ppg and 3.3rpg. He contributed to his team making it to the Euroleague Final Four. The other team he played shortly was Kings in U.S. NBA-G-League. But in only one game he did not score anything and had only 1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 block. Another team he played briefly were the 76ers in NBA. In only one game he did not score anything and had only 1 rebound.

Three years ago (a year after he left the college) he was drafted by Philadelphia 76ers (NBA) in second round (50th overall). Petrusev attended Gonzaga University until 2020 and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball.

He has been also a member of Serbian international program for some years. Petrusev has regularly played for Serbian senior team since 2021 and previously for U19 National Team in 2019.

He represented Serbia at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) this year. Petrusev’s team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 6 games: 9.7ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.2spg, FGP: 71.0%, 3PT: 33.3%, FT: 73.3%.

Petrusev is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Spain, Turkey (Efes), NBA (Sacramento Kings) and Serbia (BC Mega MIS Beograd).

Among many awards he received Eurobasket.com All-Adriatic League European Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-Serbian League Play-Off Center of the Year award back in 2021.
