Al Qadsia (D1) tabbed experienced 34-year old Croatian ex-international 213cm power forward Tomislav Zubcic. Zubcic is the second foreign player in the roster as USA Phil Greene IV signed here earlier.
He played most recently at Gevi Napoli Basket in Italian Serie A. In 30 games he averaged 14.6ppg, 5.6rpg, 1.5apg and 1.1spg last season. He helped them to win the cup. He can count that season as very successful as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Italian SerieA Honorable Mention.
In 2012, he was drafted by Toronto Raptors (NBA) in the second round (56th overall).
Zubcic was a member of the Croatian international program for several years. He was called to the Croatian Senior National Team between 2009 and 2022 and previously for the U20 National Team back in 2010.
Zubcic is a very experienced player. He has played professionally in various countries including Bosnia, Germany, Lithuania, Russia, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, Croatia, NBA G League, and The Basketball Tournament. Zubcic won the Croatian A1 League championship title in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2015.
Among many awards, he received the Eurobasket.com All-FIBA Europe Cup European Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-FIBA Europe Cup Forward of the Year award back in 2020.
