Galatasaray Ekmas Istanbul (BSL) agreed terms with 29-year old Dominican center Angel Delgado (208cm-104kg-1994, college: Seton Hall) for new 2024-25 season. Delgado will still stay in Turkey where he played last season at Besiktas (BSL). In 31 games he had 8.5ppg, 9.4rpg (#2 in the league) and 1.9apg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Delgado also played 23 games in Eurocup where he recorded 11.8ppg, 9.7rpg and 1.3apg.
The previous (2022-23) season he played at Pinar Karsiyaka. In 38 BSL games he averaged 11.6ppg, 8.6rpg (#3 in the league) and 1.6apg in that year. He contributed to his team making it to the Turkish League final. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week. Delgado also played 8 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 10.9ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.1apg and 1.0spg in that year.
He represented Dominican Republic at the Centrobasket in Panama City (Panama) eight years ago. Delgado’s team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 6 games: 12.5ppg, 7.3rpg, FGP: 60.4%, FT: 60.7%.
Delgado is quite experienced player. Delgado’s career allowed him to visit four different continents, while he played in five different countries. He tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America. Delgado has played previously professionally in China (Royal Fighters), Israel (Hapoel Holon), Spain (Estudiantes and Surne Bilbao), NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce and Ontario Clippers) and Dominican Republic (Reales).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his college team won Big East Tournament in 2016. He was also voted USBasket.com All-NBA G League Rookie of the Year back in 2019.
Delgado graduated from Seton Hall University in 2018 and it will be his seventh season as a professional player.
