Elitzur Ironi Ashkelon (National League) added 29-year old Belgian-American ex-international forward Michael Gilmore (208cm-95kg-1995, college: VCU) to their roster for season 2024-25. Gilmore is the second import player in the roster as USA Devon Scott signed here earlier.
He played last season at Liaoning Flying Leopards in Chinese CBA league. He managed to play in four leagues in two countries last year (!!!). He also played for Openjobmetis Varese in Italian Serie A where in 6 games he recorded 5.8ppg and 1.5rpg. Gilmore was a member of Belgian Senior National Team in 2020.
He is quite experienced player. Thanks to Gilmore’s pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America) in seven different countries. Gilmore has played previously professionally in Germany (Phoenix Hagen), Greece (PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki), Mexico (Rayos de Hermosillo), Sweden (BC Lulea), Belgium (Oostende and Belfius Mons Hainaut), NBA G League (Raptors 905 Mississauga and Wisconsin Herd) and The Basketball Tournament (Ram Nation).
His team made it to the NBA G League Semifinals in 2022.
He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019 and it will be his sixth season as a professional player. Gilmore played also for Florida Gulf Coast University for one year.
