Corbin Carroll Ignites with Impressive Performance

Corbin Carroll Has Powered Up

Corbin Carroll Finding His Groove After Slow Start
Corbin Carroll had a remarkable 2023 season, earning NL Rookie of the Year honors and signing a lucrative contract extension before leading the Diamondbacks to their first World Series appearance in over two decades. However, the first half of 2024 was a different story, with Carroll struggling to replicate his previous success as the team hovered around .500.
Since the All-Star break, Carroll has turned things around, helping propel the Diamondbacks into Wild Card contention. His batting average has improved significantly, and he has showcased his power with 14 home runs since the break, nearly matching the league leaders for the month of August.
Despite concerns about a drop in performance dating back to the previous season, Carroll’s recent resurgence has been a welcomed sight for the Diamondbacks. He overcame early season struggles attributed to mechanical issues with his swing, leading to a significant improvement in his overall production.
Carroll’s shift from center field to right field coincided with his uptick in performance, suggesting that the change in defensive position may have played a role in his early-season woes. With improved bat speed and quality of contact, Carroll has been on an upward trajectory, posting impressive numbers in the months following the All-Star break.
While there are still areas for improvement, Carroll’s recent success bodes well for the Diamondbacks as they make a push for the postseason.
