Hapoel Migdal Haemek/Emek Izrael/Nazareth Elite (National League) signed 29-year old American power forward Javion Ogunyemi (206cm-110kg-1995, college: Siena) for upcoming 2024-25 season. Ogunyemi joins another USA player Tervell Beck who is already in the roster.
He played this summer at Halc.Rojos in Mexican LNBP. In 10 games just recently he had 8.5ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.6apg. The last season he played at Korihait in Finnish Korisliiga where in 36 games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.4ppg, 8.5rpg and 1.4apg. He helped them to make it to the Finnish Cup Semifinals. 2023-24 was a great season as he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Finnish Korisliiga Center of the Year, named to All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week (6 times).
He is quite experienced player. Ogunyemi has played also professionally in Austria (Gmunden Swans), Cyprus (Apollon), Georgia (Sokhumi), Hungary (Atomeromu), United Kingdom (Sharks), Finland (Kobrat) and The Basketball Tournament (Saints Alive).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team was regular season runner-up in Austrian Bundesliga A in 2020. He was also selected All-MAAC Defensive Player of the Year back in 2016.
Ogunyemi graduated from Siena College in 2017 and it will be his eighth season as a professional player.
