Lately, it has been a good time to be a sports fan in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

The Dallas Mavericks are in the NBA Finals, and although they trail the Boston Celtics three games to none, the fact they have gotten there bodes well for their immediate future.

The NHL’s Dallas Stars got to the conference finals this year, where they lost in six games to the Edmonton Oilers, and the Texas Rangers, who are based in Arlington, are the defending World Series champions.

The most famous team in the area, of course, is the Dallas Cowboys, but they haven’t been able to share in the recent success of the area’s pro sports teams.

Dov Kleiman pointed out that, in contrast to the Mavericks, Stars, and Rangers, the Cowboys haven’t made it to the conference or world championship round of their sport since 1995.

The Cowboys have had one of the NFL’s most talented teams over the last few years, and they boast stars such as quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, and pass rusher Micah Parsons.

They also have an up-and-coming star in cornerback DaRon Bland, who stepped in after the injury to Trevon Diggs and led the league with nine interceptions and five pick-sixes.

Although the Cowboys have won 12 regular-season games in each of the last three seasons, they have nothing to show for it.

They have made it to the divisional round just once during that time, and their fans are growing very restless for a Vince Lombardi Trophy.
