Crystal Palace are eyeing a deal for Japanese midfielder Daichi Kamada.
According to The Daily Mail, Crystal Palace have held talks with the Lazio midfielder, who is also said to be a former United target.
The Japan international is set to become a free agent after failing to agree terms with Lazio over a £17m release clause.
He is said to be eager to reunite with his former coach Oliver Glasner at Palace.
With Newcastle United and Chelsea also vying for Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, United could focus on Kamada, suggesting a strategic move to bolster their midfield options ahead of the new season.
Kamada is particularly noted for his exceptional vision and creativity.
He excels in finding pockets of space and delivering precise passes that break down defences.
Additionally, his ability to operate in various attacking positions, coupled with his strong dribbling skills and composure in front of goal, would make him a valuable asset to United.
In addition to Kamada, Crystal Palace are actively pursuing Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham, brother of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.
The Eagles face stiff competition from Brentford for the 17-year-old talent.
United’s scouting network has been aware of Bellingham’s potential, but it remains to be seen if they will formally enter the race for his signature.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are set to strengthen their defence with the acquisition of Chadi Riad from Real Betis for £12.7m plus £1.7m in add-ons.
The 21-year-old centre-back will join the Eagles on a five-year contract once he returns from international duty with Morocco.
