Throughout the NFL offseason, the Dallas Cowboys dominated the headlines in the league for all the wrong reasons, as the storied franchise refused to make any big moves following an epic flameout in the first round of the NFL playoffs to the Green Bay Packers while also retaining head coach Mike McCarthy.

As if all that wasn’t bad enough for America’s Team, longtime team owner and general manager Jerry Jones became a distraction with his confusing statements about the team’s intentions during the offseason.

While trying to figure out what went wrong last season and what needed to be done to overcome that during the 2024 campaign, the Cowboys had contract situations with arguably their three best players: CeeDee Lamb, Micah Parsons and Dak Prescott.

Perhaps the biggest distraction, even though they didn’t get a deal done with Parsons, was contract talks with Prescott, who many believed would become a free agent next offseason but ended up signing the richest contract in league history at the last minute.

As his girlfriend made clear on Instagram, Prescott and his family are feeling blessed now that his long-term future is secure in Dallas.

Along with signing this massive contract extension, which comes in at four years, $240 million, Prescott led the Cowboys to an impressive win over the Cleveland Browns on the road in Week 1.

Although Parsons’ contract situation is still a bit of a distraction in Dallas, even though the superstar linebacker isn’t trying to make it one, Dallas seems to be on the right track moving forward.
