The Minnesota Vikings’ promising rookie linebacker, Dallas Turner, hit a bump in the road during their Week 2 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

A knee injury in the fourth quarter cut his game short after he’d notched two tackles.

Head coach Kevin O’Connell initially downplayed the severity, labeling Turner as day-to-day.

Yet, the rookie’s absence from two consecutive practices and the sight of him sporting a knee brace raised eyebrows.

The plot thickened on Thursday when Turner himself shed light on his situation.

Speaking to reporters, he revealed he’d likely miss the upcoming game but held out hope for a Week 4 return against the Green Bay Packers.

“Just rehabbing,” Turner explained. “Got a chance to run on the field today, so that’s a good step of course. Right now, my teammates are playing against the Houston Texans, so trying to support them in any way possible.”

Turner’s brief NFL career has already shown flashes of brilliance.

With five tackles and a sack in just two games, his pass-rushing skills and run defense have quickly become valuable assets for the Vikings.

His absence could be felt keenly, especially given the defense’s struggles this season.

While they managed to topple the 49ers, Turner’s presence on the field undoubtedly gives them an edge.

But it’s not all doom and gloom for Vikings fans.

KARE 11 News’ Julia Daniels offered a ray of hope, reporting that Turner was spotted hopping over a counter shortly after his interview.

It’s a small but encouraging sign that the rookie’s recovery might be on track.
