The Detroit Lions head into Week 18 on the heels of a close and controversial loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but head coach Dan Campbell refuses to look back on it.

Campbell spoke Monday about using the loss as fuel for the rest of the year rather than wallowing in sorrow.

“I’ve got controlled fury,” Campbell said. “And I’m ready to go.”

The Lions had a chance to beat the Cowboys at the end of their Week 17 game, but Campbell opted to go for two points rather than kick a game-tying extra point attempt.

Detroit converted the attempt on a pass to offensive lineman Taylor Decker, but the Lions were called for illegal touching after referees claimed Decker never reported to them as an eligible receiver.

The Lions failed to convert on their next try and the Cowboys won the game, 20-19.

This, of course, set the NFL world aflame as pundits came out in droves with their perspectives on the matter and video evidence showed Decker talking to officials before the play.

But all of that appears to be behind Campbell.

The Lions have a Week 18 game against the Minnesota Vikings left on their schedule, though they’re likely locked into the No. 3 seed in the playoffs unless the Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles both lose their respective matches next week.

And they’ll use the anger and frustrations born from the loss to the Cowboys to fuel that journey to, perhaps, their first Super Bowl.
