Dan Hurley scheduled to hold meeting with Lakers on Friday, discussions gaining momentum

Lakers 'Working To Convince' Dan Hurley To Take Job, Decision Not Expected Until Next Week

Dan Hurley is set to travel to California on Friday to discuss the head coaching vacancy with the Los Angeles Lakers. Leading the meeting will be Rob Pelinka and Jeanie Buss, who are keen on reaching an agreement with the UConn head coach.

The discussions between the two parties will focus on the length and salary of the contract.

While Hurley has not yet made a decision about leaving UConn for the Lakers, sources indicate that there is positive “momentum” in the ongoing talks.

On Wednesday, Hurley informed UConn’s administration about his discussions with the Lakers, and he shared the news with his players on Thursday.

Despite the Lakers’ rumored interest in J.J. Redick, Hurley has been their top target throughout the coaching search. Among the candidates, only James Borrego has had two in-person interviews so far.
