The Carolina Panthers’ unexpected decision to bench Bryce Young, their No. 1 overall pick from 2023, has sparked intense speculation about his future.

With a starting quarterback position opening up for an AFC team, trade rumors have begun to circulate.

Young’s potential move to a new team is now a topic of considerable interest.

The 23-year-old second-year quarterback from Alabama has struggled in the early stages of the 2024 season.

In two games, he managed only 245 passing yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions, contributing to the Panthers’ 0-2 start.

NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky suggests that Young’s confidence has taken a significant hit, but he believes the young quarterback isn’t ready to abandon his NFL career.

“Someone will have to come and trade for Bryce Young,” Orlovsky said on NFL Live. “I know Ben Solak has mentioned the Miami Dolphins being a location that makes a lot of sense. No one else in my mind makes sense for him.”

Orlovsky emphasized that Young needs to rediscover the form that made him the top pick in 2023.

With that, the Dolphins find themselves in a challenging position due to Tua Tagovailoa’s uncertain status, stemming from his concussion history.

Moreover, Head coach Mike McDaniel has previously demonstrated success in working with young quarterbacks.

This track record suggests he could potentially achieve similar results with Young and if Tagovailoa’s future in Miami becomes questionable, the Dolphins might consider Young as a potential franchise quarterback.

However, most importantly the Panthers haven’t officially placed Young on the trading block.

The team remains optimistic about Young’s future and may simply be providing him with an opportunity to reset after a challenging start to the season.
