Analyst Notes A Major Area That Daniel Jones Needs To Improve In

The New York Giants are heading into a pivotal year that hinges heavily on quarterback Daniel Jones in terms of not only his health as he works his way back from a torn ACL but also his general success while on the field after years of inconsistency.

One respected analyst pointed out one area of improvement that is critical for Jones in helping this team get back to the playoffs and removing doubt about his status as a franchise quarterback.

Greg Cosell appeared on The Ross Tucker Podcast and said that “One thing he needs to get better at is pocket movement…he is not a pocket mover,” when speaking about Daniel Jones.

Jones was abysmal last season before getting hurt and threw just two touchdowns with six interceptions across six games while taking a disgusting 30 sacks.

He was a ticking time bomb sitting behind that offensive line and struggling to navigate the pocket like he did, as it was a far cry from the 44 sacks he took in 15 games the year before.

Jones is in the midst of a 4-year, $160 million contract that extends through 2026, but the team has an out next season that it will certainly think about utilizing if Jones continues to struggle.

Many were surprised the team didn’t take one of the six quarterbacks drafted within the first 12 picks of this past draft, but the team opted to bring in a huge weapon for Jones by using the No. 6 pick on LSU’s Malik Nabers.

Hopefully Nabers can step in and give Jones a boost right away, because he needs it desperately.
