Daryl Dike Returns to Full Training with West Bromwich Albion

Daryl Dike back in full West Bromwich Albion training

Daryl Dike’s long-awaited return to action is finally on the horizon, as he has resumed training with West Bromwich Albion after being sidelined since February. The former Orlando City standout suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon last winter, which kept him out of action for the past seven months.

In an exclusive interview earlier this month, Dike spoke to SBI about his recovery process, stating, “After you have a lot of injuries, it’s kind of easy to get a bit upset, but the one thing I tell myself is that I still have lots of time. I am 24-years-old and I know there is always going to be a light at the end of the tunnel. Every day I am here, I am working to get myself into the best position so that I can play a role for the team this season.”

Since joining West Brom in 2022, Dike has scored eight goals in 32 appearances. However, his time in England has been plagued by serious injuries, leading to missed opportunities with the U.S. men’s national team. Prior to his time at West Brom, Dike scored nine goals in 22 appearances for Barnsley and 19 goals in 41 appearances with Orlando City.

West Brom has made a strong start to the EFL Championship season, earning 13 points from 15 available. The team will face Plymouth Argyle this weekend, though it remains to be seen if Dike will be ready to make his return to the pitch.
